The Xylochem platform contributes to research on wood chemistry and bio-refinery. Its aim is to valorize and exploite lignocellulosic biomass as a source of raw materials for the chemical industry. The platform activities are therefore focused on:
- fractionating biomass to obtain constituent biopolymers with good yield,
- separation and purification of biopolymers,
- characterization of biopolymers whose techniques vary from those used for the synthetic polymers
Another part of the activities is dedicated to the synthesis of new polymers and biosourced copolymers particularly in supercritical CO2 environment or by enzymatic and organocatalyzed processes.
